FAQs
Appointments & Local Pickup
What are your opening hours?
We operate flexibly by appointment across our Brisbane and Toowoomba locations rather than standard retail hours. This is how we keep prices low. Appointments are relaxed and we’re happy give you 1 on 1 help or leave you to browse, whatever you’d prefer. Contact us to arrange a time that suits you, including weekends.
How does local pickup work?
Local collection in Brisbane or Toowoomba is free. Once your order is processed, we’ll contact you via email or SMS with available pickup windows and the exact collection address. Pickups are strictly by appointment to ensure your items are ready when you arrive.
How long do I have to collect my order?
Please collect your order within 7 calendar days of receiving your pickup notification, otherwise storage charges may apply or your order may be cancelled. If you need a bit more time, please contact us in advance and we will see what we can do to work with your schedule.
Do you deliver?
We operate primarily on a local pickup model. However, on a case-by-case basis, direct delivery within selected Brisbane and Toowoomba suburbs may be arranged for an agreed fee. Deliveries are strictly ground-floor / kerbside (such as a driveway, carport, or front porch with level access). If you request that items be left unattended ("Authority to Leave"), risk of loss, weather, or accidental damage transfers once drop-off photos are taken.
Do deliveries include unpacking, placement, or moving pots into position?
No. All arranged direct deliveries are strictly kerbside / ground-floor drop-off only (such as a driveway, garage, or front porch with level access). Deliveries do not include unpacking, moving items up stairs or around the back of properties, final placement, or rubbish removal.
Do you only stock the products listed on your website?
Not at all. While our website highlights our core shapes, finishes, and best sellers, we have access to a much wider range of high-quality pots and planters. If you have a specific style in mind that you don’t see online, get in touch—we can usually source it for you quickly at our direct pricing.
Do you offer discounts if I buy in bulk or large quantities?
Because our by-appointments model already cuts out traditional showroom markups, our standard pricing is already low. We offer significant discounts for set buys (discounted prices are shown on each product page). We are also willing to look at package pricing for large volume purchases. Reach out with your requirements and we can go from there.
Sizing & Handcrafted Characteristics
Are the dimensions listed on the website exact?
All measurements (height, width, diameter, and weight) are approximate and provided as an indicative guide. Handcrafted method naturally create slight variations from batch to batch. Stated width and diameter typically refer to the external widest point, not the internal opening. Please double check any critical dimensions (including height, footprint, and internal mouth clearance) with us prior to purchase, or measure the pot in person on collection.
Do the actual pots look exactly like the website images?
Some lifestyle and editorial scenes are digitally styled or computer-rendered (including via AI) to inspire design ideas and illustrate scale. Handcrafted ceramics, raw terracotta, concrete, and composite planters inherently feature unique variations in texture, tone, and character.
What are the fine hairline lines on my pot?
Glazed ceramics and concrete finishes commonly feature "crazing"—fine, web-like hairline surface lines in the glaze or outer finish. This is a natural cosmetic occurrence in fired and cast materials, not a structural crack or defect.
Planting, Pot Care & Drainage
Can aggressive root systems damage my pot?
Yes. Rigid planters (terracotta, ceramic, and concrete) can crack if plants with vigorous, invasive root systems (such as aggressive ficus, bamboo, or fast-growing trees) become root-bound. We recommend root pruning or keeping vigorous plants inside plastic grow pots placed inside the decorative planter.
Do my pots need to be elevated?
Yes. Drainage holes must remain clear and free-flowing. Elevating your planters with pot feet or packers prevents water from backing up, which protects the pot’s structural integrity and prevents waterlogging.
Will my pots discolour, stain, or develop a patina over time?
Yes, natural weathering and surface changes are normal across different planter materials:
- Terracotta and concrete: These porous materials breathe and absorb water. Moisture, soil contact, and mineral-rich fertilisers can naturally draw out white mineral efflorescence (salt deposits) or create an organic patina over time.
- Fibreglass and lightweight composites: While non-porous, unsealed composite and fibreglass finishes can still absorb surface pigments, show runoff staining from potting mix and fertilisers, or experience UV fading and dulling if left unsealed in outdoor elements.
These surface changes are expected material responses to soil, water, and sun exposure rather than manufacturing faults. To preserve your pot’s original finish and minimise staining, we recommend applying an appropriate surface sealer prior to planting.
Are the pots waterproof?
Unless explicitly labelled as sealed, our planters are not designed to hold standing water. For indoor surfaces, timber floors, or furniture, we recommend using a waterproof internal saucer or plastic nursery liner, or applying an appropriate masonry/pot sealer before planting.
Can I paint or alter my pots?
We advise against painting, drilling extra holes, or altering the structure of the planters. Applying non-approved paints, cutting, or making physical modifications voids any warranty or defect claims.
Returns & Guarantees
What is your policy on change of mind?
We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you get your pots home and find the size, tone, or style doesn’t quite suit your space, we are happy to accept a return provided the item is in its original, undamaged, and completely unplanted condition.
As a small business, holding stock off the floor means other customers miss out, so we kindly ask that you bring it back as soon as possible, and in any event within 7 calendar days of collection.
Please note that certain exclusions apply, including clearance/sale items and custom or special orders. All change-of-mind returns are subject to the conditions set out in our policies. Please review our Terms of Service and Refund Policy for full details, or contact us if you have any questions.
What happens if I inspect the pots at pickup and decide they aren't suitable?
We strongly encourage thorough in-person inspection before loading. If you arrive and decide the pots are not right for your project or vehicle, simply let us know on the spot. We can cancel the uncollected order and arrange an alternative piece, store credit, or a refund. Once pots are accepted, loaded, and depart our collection point, any subsequent change-of-mind request falls under our standard 7 calendar day return criteria.
What should I do if a pot is damaged during transport?
For customer collections, the risk of transit damage transfers once the pots have been inspected and loaded into your vehicle. We cannot accept responsibility or provide refunds for cracks, chips, or breakage that occur after the pots leave our collection point.
What is excluded from your warranty and liability?
Our liability covers the replacement or refund of the planter itself. In accordance with Australian law, we do not cover:
- Damage caused by invasive or root-bound root systems (e.g., aggressive ficus, bamboo, or fast-growing trees).
- Damage resulting from natural movement, ground shifting, freezing/frost expansion, or physical modification.
- Natural cosmetic characteristics, including surface crazing, colour variations, efflorescence, or patina.
- Ancillary or third-party costs, including nursery plants, potting mix, soil disposal, crane hire, or professional landscaping fees.
